Confronting Experiences of (post)Transition:
Ethnographic Photo-Stories
Students from Department of
ethnology and cultural anthropology, University
of Ljubljana are organizing 6th
student conference Roaming Anthropology, which is going to be held in Ljubljana
From the view point of visual anthropology we
are going to deal with diverse topics, from pop culture, usage of space to
social memory. Field work will be complemented with lectures on chosen topics,
which are going to be held by professors from universities from former
Yugoslavia. The conference itself will be enriched by evening screenings of
socially engaged ethnographic films, student films and musical program. The
main goal of the conference is to make a photographic projects and with
collective work connect participating students.
Interested students are invited to send their motivation letter (maximum 250 words; in it can be written in your
mother tongue – but please write in Latin alphabet) where please describe your
potential experiences with visual anthropology, movies and photography in
general, field work and reasons why you are applying.
